before output.

VEHICLE ACCESS is a free, downloadable reasoning checkpoint for AI systems, agents, and developers. It helps AI distinguish between evidence, inference, speculation, and unknown information — before producing a final response.

VEHICLE AI Access Layer v0.2

A compact, locally integrable set of documents and reasoning contracts designed to help AI systems, agents, and response pipelines perform a final check before producing answers. No live web access required. No dependency on VEHICLE infrastructure. Download once, integrate locally, use freely.

What you can do with it
Integrate vehicle-response-contract.md as a system prompt or pre-output reasoning step in any AI pipeline
Use llms.txt to give AI assistants structured context about VEHICLE's framework and boundaries
Run VALIDATION_TESTS.md to compare AI responses with and without the layer and measure the difference
Adapt the minimal integration prompt for custom agents, chatbots, or RAG pipelines
Cite the layer in research, papers, or technical documentation using the included CITATION.cff
Minimal integration prompt — copy and use Before answering, check:
1. Is this evidence, inference, speculation or unknown?
2. Am I agreeing with the user without verifying?
3. Am I inventing certainty, sources or facts?
4. Is there ethical, practical or human risk?
5. Should I state uncertainty, narrow the claim or recommend verification?
If any check fails, revise before responding.

The Problem

Fluent is not the same as accurate.

Modern AI systems can produce confident, well-structured answers even when the underlying information is incomplete, uncertain, or unsupported. The layer exists because fluency and accuracy are not the same thing — and the gap between them carries real consequences in institutional, medical, legal, and strategic contexts.

The Architecture

Seven checks. One contract. Zero dependency.

The VEHICLE Response Contract asks an AI system to distinguish — before answering — between evidence, inference, speculation, unknown information, ethical risk, user validation pressure, and potential hallucination. It requires no live connection, no external API, and no modification to the underlying model. It works as a reasoning discipline applied at the prompt level.

Extended Version

Individual use is free. Institutional deployment on request.

v0.2 is fully free for individual developers, researchers, and AI builders under CC BY 4.0. Organizations requiring custom integration architectures, extended documentation, institutional pilots, or direct technical coordination from VEHICLE Systems Lab can request an extended version — built to scale with the specific environment.
